"It's A Cold Double Shift Tuesday"

Oh yeah, new theme. DSW, or double shift Wednesday, wasn't enough. Let's do a double shift Tuesday as well!

Allow me to vent. My night line cook specifically asked to work six day weeks, because he is saving for a trip to someplace. Guatemala, I think. That is 48 hours a week. Oh wait...he has time management issues and is late every day. More like 47 or 46 hours a week. He was taking a culinary class this summer, but dropped it because he was getting too stressed working "all the hours" and trying to take the class. So he decided he needed three days off to de-stress and get ready for the new quarter at school. He has signed up for fewer classes this time too.

Are you f&*king sh^tting me?? Stress from working 46 hours a week and taking one Baking I class where you make yellow cake and chocolate chip cookies?????? Buck up and be a man! You are 40 f*#king years old. Get a gawd dang grip on yourself!!

OK, I feel slightly better now.

So that left me to fill in the gap, so I got to work my day off, and do back to back double shifts, cause tomorrow is DSW.

As for the cold...if I'd get out of the freezer, which was a nice -6F today, maybe I wouldn"t be so cold. Except the high was 72F and the low tonight is 48F. What happened to all the high temps???

By the way, the day after Labor Day has to be one of the worst days of the year for bars and restaurants. Everybody is sick of drinking and overeating, and spent all their money for the week. It was dead, and I actually sat at the bar and read a book for over two hours without one customer coming in.

That is OK. The money from tonight's misery is dedicated to new chef pants. Or maybe that...
